Bank Holiday weekend of fun at Belfast Festival of Fools

Events Photography of the Festival of Fools in Belfast

When living in London a number of years ago, and since then when visiting, we love to spend a few hours at Covent Gardens for its street performances. On Bank Holiday weekend 2-5 May, Belfast created its own mini Covent Garden street performance in the form of the Festival of Fools, as part of the Cathedral Arts Festival. Centred mainly around the Cathedral Quarter a great variety of slapstick, mime, acrobatic, magicians and other artists entertained both children and adults for the 3 days of the bank holiday.
The festival has been running for a number of years, but he is the first year that we managed to visit it and watch a number of acts. It was great fun and in the mix, we managed to take some shots of the acts by the Candies, Billy Kidd ( http://www.billykiddshow.com ), Afrikan Warriors (http://www.afrikanwarriors.com), Reckless Invention ( http://www.recklessinvention.co.uk ) and Beat Brothers.
We loved the shows, the atmosphere and the transformation of Belfast to a fun place to be. We hope it grows bigger and better every year. Below are some shots of the performances.
