Events photography of Giro d'Italia 2014
We joined thousands of other spectators enjoying the buzz of the first stage of Giro d'Italia 2014 in Belfast last Friday. The heightened atmosphere created by the excitement was great. NI should be proud of itself for organising and running such a prestigious event. We started at Stormont in the morning during the time trial practice session and covered the start of the race at Titanic Quarter and the finish at the City Hall.
With the number of people around, unless you were an official press photographer, it was difficult to get a great position for capturing the action shots with the cyclists racing at great speed. However, our aim was to capture the atmosphere of the event at iconic places such as Stormont, the Titanic Quarter, and City Hall, as well as to get some idea of preparations behind the scenes in cyclists' enclosures.
